Tampa, FL – Tampa used car dealership Car Credit’s “Corazones de Car Credit” charitable organization has selected the Tampa Hispanic Heritage, Inc.as its monthly winner for April 2019. Corazones de Car Credit, a program which recognizes Tampa Bay area charitable organizations for helping those newly immigrated to the country, awarded the Tampa Hispanic Heritage, Inc. $2000.
Tampa Hispanic Heritage, Inc. is the oldest organization in the Tampa Bay community, having just celebrated their 40th year serving the Tampa Hispanic community. The nonprofit cultural organization’s main goal is to raise money for scholarships, many of which go to HCC and USF students.
The mission of Tampa Hispanic Heritage is to preserve, conserve and celebrate the Hispanic culture in Tampa Bay.
Odette Figueruelo, Vice President & Communications Chair, believes their selection as the recipient of this award is a reflection of the organizations hard work and commitment to the Tampa Hispanic community over the past 40 years.
The current president, Eileen, and VP Odette met as students at USF and they both received scholarships for Latino students. Both women went to HCC and USF. The two women now lead the organization. “We are a product of what organizations like TBHA can do for Hispanic students, and this is why we are so passionate about the work we do,” says Figueruelo.
The $2000 awarded by Corazones de Car Credit to Tampa Hispanic Heritage, Inc. will be put directly in their scholarship fund.
Tampa Hispanic Heritage’s longstanding commitment to the Hispanic community it Tampa Bay is what earned them this award, says Car Credit Tampa owner Steve Cuculich. “We are thrilled to give this month’s award to the Tampa Hispanic Heritage, Inc., and we know the funds will be put to great use in their scholarship progam.”
